From the reviews
We have 3 of our kids going two times a week. They all have loved the structure and promotions that they receive through their growth and consistency in attendance. Has been great for my young boys, they do warm ups where they have to army crawl, bear crawl and different movements.
Took my two daughters who train in GB Long Beach while we were in town, super welcoming from Professor Juan and Cory. Beautiful facility, great kids program. My girls had fun taking their Saturday morning class on our visit. Coaches, staff, students and parents at this location are friendly and welcoming.
This gym has been amazing since day one! My son started there over two years ago and we would never consider taking him anywhere else. Very friendly staff, great with the kids—they really focus on the individual needs of each child. Coach Korey is always super welcoming, makes us feel like family.
Has been great for the whole family , we have been there for more than 4 years now. Our 2 sons Michael and Vincent 8 and 7 have grown so much with the help of there coach Korey who has been with them since they started.Would recommend this place to everyone, great staff , family atmosphere.
Your first muay thai class at Gracie Barra Jacksonville
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
