From the reviews
Myers Martial Arts is hands down the best karate studio. I've personally known Eric Myers since middle school and can honestly say he's one of the most disciplined and ethical people that I know and he's devoted his life to this art. He's also very charitable and believes in giving back.
I couldn’t be more pleased with Eric, his staff, and my 4 year old daughters progress this year. The world now is far different from the world I was 4 years old in. I want my daughter to always have the best training to one day defend herself (thought I pray daily she will never need to).
My son (8) has been a member of Myers Martial Arts for over a year now. We have struggled with his confidence and social skills (only child) and had tried other “team” sports like tball and soccer but they just weren’t for him.
My kids have always been super shy and not into sports of any kind. The coaches here have brought them out of their shell and have taught them so many things! We absolutely love Warrior and all of the coaches!
Your first muay thai class at Warrior Academy
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
