We joined DG Malvern in June of 2021, after moving to the area. Our son had never done martial arts -- or any sports. He has absolutely loved his class at DG, and we went from initially having him attend weekly on Saturdays, to 2-3 times per week.
My daughter Alvira, has been attending the dragon gym Malvern sessions almost 2 years now... started at Pee Wee 1 to Junior 1 now. She has improved a lot over her skills especially in terms of emotional balance and her confidence has increased and improved since she started the classes.
I visited many gyms before finally deciding to join Dragon Gym, and am so glad I waited until I found this gym. The facilities are clean and well-kept, but most importantly the instructors are excellent.
Started my son in Taekwondo here in DG’s Malvern location just 2 months after turning 4…I wasn’t sure how much he’d like it or not, but the only thing I regret is not starting him sooner. The classes are such a great mix of physical, mental, educational, and fun!

Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
