From the reviews
I don't normally leave reviews, but this place really deserves the highest recognition. I've been training here for a couple of months now and the experiences I've had with both the instructors and other people training have been nothing but positive.
Our children have been attending classes at Gracie One for roughly 2 months now. We were welcomed with open arms from day one by their amazing instructors. We have 2 children, a son(5) and a daughter(12), who have grown to love attending class with instructors Jeff and Mason.
Literally the best Jiu Jitsu academy Dallas has to offer! Both my boys aged 5 & 4 attend and you can really see the difference in their practice since they started with Gracie one. I highly recommend the professors here, in each class they have older & more advanced students assisting the younger ones.
We could not be more grateful to have found Gracie one. Not only do both of our children love this sport but we have seen the changes it has made to them as individuals in a positive way! It feels like a big family here and the coaches truly care about the growth of each child/adult!
Your first muay thai class at Gracie ONE Jiu Jitsu Academy
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
