From the reviews
Ignore all the negative comments. Being strict and mean helps you learn more and grow more discipline.
I have trained here for the past year. I have been training in various styles of martial arts for the better part of the last ten years. I cannot say enough good things about the Shaolin Warrior Academy. The training here is top notch.
My kid immediately took immense interest in learning shaolin kungfu after his free trial class. I was surprised because it was quite a workout and obviously a new sport/skill to learn. After we came home he practiced and practiced, and told us that he really wanted to take the classes.
I think this academy has improved from the past. Shi-Fu has improved with english a lot and my classmates seem to be having more fun from what I’ve seen on the days I go. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) I don’t think any of the 1 star reviews apply as much as they did before because he’s really switched up.
Your first muay thai class at Shaolin Warrior Academy
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
