From the reviews
Combat Fitness Martial Arts teaches authentic Muay Thai! I recently returned from Thailand with my 19 year-old son. Invited by Sifu Joe, we trained Muay Thai in Thailand for 2 weeks as part of the World Thai Boxing Association's (WTBA) Thailand Training Tour 2025.
I started Cfma when I was 16 I am now 18 when I first started training Muy Thai i was nervous and unconfident but over my years of training Muy Thai has changed my life I joined a nice community with a great teacher Sifu who is always willing to give up his own time to help other students training for fight and…
My name is Eric, I have trained at CFMA for a good while now (I think 3 years at least). It has been one of the best experiences for me, and became a sort of home as well. Sifu Joe Cargado is very experienced, and a great teacher.
My son takes the children's kickboxing at this school. The instructors are very knowledgeable and patient with the children. It is a great mix of fun fitness and learning in a positive environment. They also offer many other types of martial arts for adults which makes this school appealing to all types of people.
Your first muay thai class at Combat Fitness Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
