From the reviews
Great people and outstanding instruction. This is the place for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Lincoln, Nebraska. If you're reading this and wondering about whether or not to come try out the free week, do it. It's a blast. Four years later and still a great place to train. It's only gotten better.
Not my primary club, but a great home away from home with reasonable drop-in rates. Always felt welcomed, solid instructors, great fitness and warm up, and definitely taking some new techniques back home with me. Classes are well attended so you have different people to roll with and mix up your game.
Very solid gym. Tried it for a week while I was in town for the holidays. Very good instruction, old school, & disciplined BJJ. Went to open mat as well and everyone was very cool. Good fundamentals, and I filled some gaps in my game. I’m a four stripe white belt for context. All coaches give helpful feedback.
LBJJC is an amazing BJJ gym! My family and I are back in Lincoln from June to December this year and I was looking for a place to continue learning BJJ. There are a great variety of classes (gi, no gi, take-downs, judo, mma, etc.). The classes are offered 7 days a week at great times.
Your first muay thai class at Lincoln Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Center
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
