From the reviews
Hands down the best martial arts university in the state. Don't believe any of these 1 star reviews. If you want to study real JKD, Kali, Kuntao, Wing Chun, and fight conditioning this place has the areas best instructors. Their grappling and mma fighters are constantly bringing home victories and trophies.
This place is top notch! I just started training here and am having a blast so far. The facility is awesome, with all the best equipment, including a boxing ring and a cage! Jesse obviously knows his stuff and it feels great to be trained by someone of his caliber. I look forward to my next class.
They are a best-in-class Mixed Martial Arts University. Fitness and self defense training programs that are second to none. If you're looking for a place to get your degree in martial arts, become an amateur fighter, or just get in shape while learning great self defense skills. look no further. Highly Recommended!
I studied several arts here for many years - I still train and only stopped at this location due to geography. The owner Ron, and the other instructors here are all immensely skilled, dedicated and are welcoming and genuine people. The arts taught are unique, hard to find and very effective.
Your first muay thai class at Practical Self Defense Training Center
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
