“There’s even what I would call “mental conditioning” involved as the combination of moves tests my memory and I feel even that has improved as well as my strength and confidence.”
“We were desperately seeking someone other then Mom and Dad to teach our son self confidence, bravery and self respect.”
From the reviews
Our 2 young daughters started to attend Mr. Schilz's Tae Kwon Do classes in October 2017 and it has been a fabulous experience. Mr. Schilz has a fantastic contact with kids: he is kind but he has a great authority and he delivers values and life skills to our kids that will last a lifetime.
We moved to the area in April of 2020, and my little ones were missing their friends and unable to make new ones at school. Schilz's Martial Arts has been a lifeline for them during a generally rough time. Mr. Schilz and Mr. Mueller both teach the little dragons class with patience, grace and humor.
Mr. Schilz does an amazing job with his adult students! I have become much more confident in my abilities to defend myself if needed. The school has a great sense of community and support. If you are looking for skills to defend yourself and/or a great workout- check it out!
My wife and I joined Master Schilz and his kickboxing & Krav Maga classes last summer and were members up until we moved to Denver earlier this year, and we wish we could still make it to class!
Your first muay thai class at Schilz Martial Arts & Kickboxing
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
