From the reviews
I dropped in here after being off the mats for the better part of 5 months (nurse working with COVID19 patients) . Professor Ruan Oliviera very nicely worked me over like it was my first class. I'm a black belt from a well respected school in the Dallas area of a different affiliation.
Hands down, the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training in New Braunfels. Period. I had the privilege to train with NBTC while I was working in the NB area for about 6 months.
This is our first experience with any type of martial arts and we have been very impressed. Our 4 children plus my husband are in classes and absolutely love it. The owner’s son teaches the 3-6 year old class and does so well with our 5 year old who has ADHD/sensory disorder.
Been a member almost 3 years since relocating to Texas. Didn't know what to expect after coming from a academy full of Black Belts. NBTCBJJ did not and has not disappointed. Best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the New Braunfels and San Antonio Metro Plex. Come check out our new high level Black Belt Professor from Brazil.
Your first muay thai class at NBTC Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/ Double Five BJJ New Braunfels
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
