What members say
“I love the Rabadi BJJ gym, Coach Robby Rabadi and his coaches are amazing! They're very knowledgeable in their craft and are excellent at teaching and helping their students.”
“It is a blessing to say the least, that we have chosen a first class academy for our daughter to train under.”
“Professor Robby has cultivated a super supportive, hardworking, and humble culture that permeates through the instructors and black belts, all the way down through the lower belts.”
“And I really like how, compared to other martial arts, these disciplines are light on the rigid formality, and heavy on the practical application.”
“Nearing 40 years old, starting over in a new city, and definitely not in the best shape, I didn’t really believe that I could ever be good at martial arts.”
“I saw an immediate boost my daughter's confidence, and we're so thankful to all of the instructors for sharing their time and talents.”
From the reviews
My daughter and I have been coming to Rabadi for about 5 months now. Great people, great instruction, and a great environment to learn and grow. The instructors and management have created an awesome camaraderie and everyone is there to get better and help others to get better.
Coach Miguel and the entire staff are outstanding highly recommend my 6 year old really enjoys it. Challenging adult classes and Muay Thai also as well as leadership programs.
I have 3 kids who joined the Rabadi family in April 2023. Started as something good for the kids, then good for our family, and now feels almost like extended family. Happened naturally as we got to know the coaches, the other students, and their parents.
This family rocks! To start with the coaches are awesome! The amount of respect, loyalty and dedication they have to their students is remarkable on every level. As a parent, watching the coaches instruct and train with such positive reinforcement can sometimes leave me speechless.
New to muay thai? Start at Team Rabadi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Muay Thai
Team Rabadi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Muay Thai comes up as a beginner-friendly gym — noted on their own site. If you've never thrown a punch or a kick, that's exactly who a good beginners program is for. A few things worth knowing before your first week. First, you don't need to be fit to start — you get in shape by training, not before it, and coaches scale the conditioning to you. Second, you won't be thrown into sparring — reputable gyms build fundamentals (stance, footwork, and the basic strikes of the "art of eight limbs") for weeks before any contact, and sparring stays optional. Third, all levels really are welcome — ask about a dedicated beginners or fundamentals class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most gyms are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.
Your first muay thai class at Team Rabadi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Muay Thai
Nervous about walking into a muay thai gym for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good coaches expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling the basics on pads and bags — not fighting. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: shorts or athletic wear and a t-shirt; you'll train barefoot on the mats. What to bring: water and hand wraps if you have them — many gyms lend gloves for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gloves, wraps, a mouthguard, and shin guards. Sparring is optional and comes later, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the coach. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
